Promoting Awareness and Open Data for Crisis Resilience — Northern Nigeria

Overview

[edit]

Wikidata’s 13th Birthday Celebration: Promoting Awareness and Knowledge Access in Crisis-Prone Communities of Northern Nigeria

This project aims to document, label, and translate critical infrastructures such as hospitals, schools, water points, markets, and safe spaces on Wikidata to support crisis resilience in Adamawa and Nasarawa States.

Communities in these regions face recurring crises ranging from flooding, displacement, conflict, and limited access to verified information. By improving open data about essential infrastructures, this project contributes to improved visibility, preparedness, and response capacity for both local residents and humanitarian actors.
