Motivation
[edit]InterSportStats contains results for athletes (sportspeople) from non-Olympic international and regional competitions. It has been published since 2020 by Bill Mallon, Hilary Evans, Jeroen Heijmans, Kristof Linke and Martin Kellner,[1] all of whom are contributors to Olympedia (Q95606922).[2] For Olympic athletes, Olympedia contains Olympic results and InterSportStats contains other competition results. InterSportStats also has many athletes who never competed in the Olympic Games. It is a valuable resource which currently has links from over 1,200 articles in English Wikipedia and over 5,400 articles in Spanish Wikipedia. -- Zyxw (talk) 01:08, 28 December 2025 (UTC)

Comment I believe this database will be of great addition for sources to every wikipedia, but for now it is a bit unbalanced towards some sports. The size of this database will only grow and improvements will be done, so it will come good in the future. For how long that will take, I don't know. The database I would argue it is the most similar to this one is the one of Les-Sports.info (Q21996558) with the athletes ID's at The-Sports.org athlete ID (P4391).
- Another comment is that this InterSportsStats.com-database are most probably the reason why the group behind the Olympedia-uncertainty expressed here Property talk:P8286#Future of Olympedia uncertain, see also the comments in the linked twitter-thread, were focusing more on this database.
