Motivation
[edit]RetroCollect (Q95995244) is a database primarily meant to keep track of their game collections − the parent organization was a founding member of the European Federation of Video Game Archives, Museums and Preservation Projects (Q84349935). They index 30921 releases − their data model is at the region × platform level, ie the local release (although not quite − it does not seem to account for re-editions, eg in Platinum budget range?), and should so always be qualified with platform (P400) and place of publication (P291). Interestingly, the database knows this maps to 15590 games, ie deduplicated across platforms and regions (while keeping distinct games separate (eg the handheld vs console versions) ; alas there is no ID for that concept, so we’ll work with releases. Discussion

Support but I get the impression that, for the moment, the Japanese versions are not being taken into account. --- ʂɤɲ ✉ 13:21, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
