I am not really sure it makes sense to have different types of disambiguation pages. If things are grouped by types then wouldn't they be Wikimedia set index article (Q15623926) instead? I think "types of disambiguation" is really a conflation with a different concept. On the other hand it makes sense that for some disambiguation topics, everything related to that would naturally fit into only one type of thing. These are cases where a disambiguation degrades to effectively be a set index article. Then the main difference would be whether it is tagged as disambiguation or set index as typically the style rules for those two are different. For example since this RfD is about "surname disambiguation page", think of some surname, then consider disambiguation for that topic. There might some items that are named after that surname or coincidentally named the same or similar enough to be there but often everything of note is basically related to that surname so in effect such a page also degrades to an "set index" list. Now if the page is set to be "disambiguation" the rules are tighter but the page can organically grown beyond a "set index" list of only one type of thing but if it is tagged as "set index" it is restricted by type but then freer in how the list of items can be edited and maintained. This is why conversions between these two concepts should not be a problem provided it is done properly but the two concepts should not be conflated with one another and why I believe we do not really need "types of disambiguation" as a concept. —Uzume (talk) 03:06, 21 July 2025 (UTC)

I like having separate items that are (in most cases) conceptually distinct but I also see the disadvantages. I'd still slightly vote for keep. And what about Q22808320?  Keep They are subclasses to create instances from. For example, for the document :File:湖南省通信管理局不予受理告知书 (2025年1月17日).pdf, I create 湖南省通信管理局不予受理告知书 (2025年1月17日) (document instance) from 湖南省通信管理局不予受理告知书 (subclass), which is subclass of other appropriate subclasses.

All subclasses I used for documents can be verifable with a legit document already uploaded to Commons, which can then be verified in-person with respective authorities (government, court etc). If you suspect I uploaded false documents, you have a chance to put me in jail, because forging them is forbidden by the criminal law of my residence. XsLiDian (talk) 18:41, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

@Dorades Not necessarily, but I checked a few of the lower numbered items and they seem to pass WDN3 as they are the immediate family of Q235077. Not sure about Q111303568, probably borderline as there is no direct link to Q235077 only via her mother Q56615169 who would pass WDN3. Thank you for your initiative! I am also interested to have this finally resolved. While I basically agree with you about keeping and deleting as outlined by you above, the items that are being kept also need sourcing or deleting of statements such as date of birth, place of birth, occupation etc. per Wikidata:Living people. According to the Commons category and de.wp, it’s the other way around: stackable concrete block are a subclass of Nice stones since they also include things like commons:File:KFZ_-_Sperren_aus_Beton_-_Nizza_Sperre_-_Dresden.jpg. Bulk deletion request regarding Tech SEO Summit (2)

This request follows Ameisenigel's suggestion to "consider nominating them again together with the associated items" after a first RfD on some related items. In this previous RfD I nominated items related to Tech SEO Summit (Q127326900) in July 2024 (cf. Wikidata:Requests_for_deletions/Archive/2025/06/07#Bulk_deletion_request_regarding_Tech_SEO_Summit), most items were recently deleted, for two items I withdrew my request and six were not deleted. Following Ameisenigel's notice, this was partly because the RfD did not include all related items, which was the case because some were created after the RfD. Since I have a strong notion that Tech SEO Summit (Q127326900) was created for promotion, I am opening this second RfD. It includes the main event and its editions, several people associated with these events who don't seem notable and also podcasts and one book (not found in Worldcat) which are associated with the individuals listed in this RfD. This RfD includes only two items from the first RfD. I want to say sorry to the admins beforehand because this could be time-consuming to see through and there will probably be some reactions from involved users, so maybe also a lot of context to read through. Regaring WDN2: The event is listed as a Google Search Central Live event (https://developers.google.com/search/events). Search Central Live is the official Google event series where you can meet members of the Google Search Team. For both Q132143582 and Q132143586, there are event recaps from participants and various social media posts.

Regarding WDN3: Q131400230 is a developer advocate at Google and attended Q132143586. Q127775949, for which you withdrew the deletion request after I pointed out the notability and importance of his talk, clearly participated in Q132143582. Q132143582 and Q132143586 also fullfill a structural need for other speakers not part of this deletion request.

Furthermore, I cannot understand at all why long running podcasts e.g. Q131827902 (1400+ episodes), Q124843502 (200+ episodes) and Q124843724 (150+ episodes) end up in this deletion request just because they are linked to people who have a connection here. https://developers.google.com/search/events contains also events they have "attended as guests". I don't think this confers notability to all these events. "event recaps from participants and various social media posts" also don't confer notability per se.

I withdrew my former RfD for Michael King (Q127775949) because there are some serious sources (borderline in my opinion) which make him notable. Not because he was speaker at the said event. We don't have to list all events he ever visited when these events are not notable by themselves.

It should go without saying that a second opinion from someone who is familiar with how museum collections are handled on wikidata is needed before/if these are to be deleted, but I'm nominating them on the basis they don't pass WD:N3 (structural need to make items useful) as a non-location is not a useful location statement. Though I applaud the attempt to create overviews of works on show, there is no way we will ever be accurate in this, and using the location of the museum is the best way for a member of the public to be informed about the location of the work, whether it's in depot or not. Most depots are very dynamic as the collection often earns money (or saves money on insurance payments) by lending works long or short term to exhibitions. A location statement with the museum is not incorrect, even if the painting is not on show, as the museum is the main contact. That said, some museums are so notorious for clinging to their ownership (possibly for insurance reasons) that they have works out on loan for over a century. National museums like the Rijksmuseum or Louvre come to mind. Even under those circumstances however, the painting may not be on show in the museum that "holds" it. I therefore find using the holding institution as the location as the more precise information, unless specific dates can be given (which I sometimes add for exhibitions when no other location data is known for works held in private collections). Just as an extra tip to others reading here: I always make a point of asking at the front desk for paintings that I feel should be on show (or on better display), even when I know the answer.  Delete the award is not usual "award" per se, it is a competition with paid entry, it seems for profit. There are no information on the council or panel of judges, which could indicate its notability by tracing known experts who participate in the process. The winner also seems random with neither information about nominations process nor indicators or category for selection. More so, awards usually are sponsored or endorsed by notable institutions or companies, this one seemingly not. The Mongol invasion of 1260 is a well known and notable event, which ended the Ayyubid rule over the city (and the wider region) and, ultimately, resulted in the establishment of the Mamluk empire, which lasted for some 250 years. The database you linked has records of 5,450,074 people. It's a massive government database of people with few details about each person. It is not our intention to upload 5,450,074 people on the database.

My batch is about 6750 "tirailleurs sénégalais" and we aims to specify their stories (clusters of localities of origins, age of death, figthing units, places of death).

It is of encyclopedic value to have names and profiles ready on wikidata (some other military units are also on wikidata) and then be able to draw their specific parcours of lives and contributions to the french colonial empire during the wars. Which lead them to travel and die out of their lands.

I intend to do afterward some data analyses and tables and facts and figures. Charts & graphics will then be shared on wikipedia pages. For example : top 50 recruitment localities in sub sahara Africa; main/lowest grade/ranking in Army per figthing units, returnee/incorporated (registered) ratios (means death ratios) etc.; therefore, and for the publicity, I think the data's are better made available on Wikidata.

Now if those have to be removed, it will be a pity because lot of subsequent Wikipedia articles infos will rely on data's that one has to download and remake analyses and filter and process again. I don't see any reference statements anywhere in that item or other items in this group. And even if there were reference statements to that website, I'm unsure how the barest of biographical data of military casualties is notable under Wikidata's notability policy, even if it is sourced to a government database. I understand that these biographical records have significance to the government that compiled them, but in regards to Wikidata notability I see these as akin to birth and death registry records that don't on their own establish notability. Reply : It is about 'tirailleurs senegalais' which has strong encyclopedic value for all French speaking African native. They are not all from Sénégal; those deaths soldiers who left their place of birth. Considered heroes by their relatives. Naming them, mapping their origins, place of death, with sources and summarizing the number and places of origins of the African natives casualties has an encyclopedic value. This is the stage two of this project, which got support from the Wikimédia Foundation.

I don't think it's a good idea to say, for example, 2019 elections were followed by 2024 as although states that held elections in one year also did in the other, the same could not be consistently done for other years, it would not be not be a good idea for navigation templates, and is not entirely true for Saxony - 2019 followed by 2024 should be on the relevant election items for the states. Separate items would be more useful (and would allow linking to Category:2019 elections in Germany (Q32094053), Category:2020 elections in Germany (Q65698085) and similar items consistently) but a split should be done before deletion to avoid breaking the link between 2019 and 2024 (unless they are also to be deleted, instead using Q32094053, Q65698085 and similar items directly and relying on the P31 to say that they are local elections). @Fralambert I think I phrased my initial request poorly. To clarify: A "Kigali Province" distinct from the city never existed.

What existed prior to the 2006 reform were two separate entities:

• Kigali City (Kigali-Ville) - The urban center.
• Kigali-Rural Province (Kigali-Ngali) - The surrounding rural area.

In 2006, Kigali-Rural (Q388562) was abolished. Its territory was divided: parts were merged into the expanded City of Kigali (specifically Gasabo and Kicukiro districts), while the remaining districts were moved into the Northern and Eastern Provinces.

Therefore:

It's not made-up, strictly speaking. For Bruno Haible, for example, it's sourced from official GNU website. But i do think it's useless as the same could be modeled via position = software maintainer; affiliated with = GNU project or something like that. I believe the way to model these is just to have maintained by (P126) on the project item as in https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q18968627#P126 Then on the maintainer's items an occupation (P106) software maintainer (Q1420140). You can view what a person is maintaining by clicking on "show derived statements" (you may need to enable "relatedItems" in https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets ) I think position held (P39) should only be for more official roles eg politician (Q82955) Piecesofuk (talk) 10:37, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

I don't think the sources listed above are enough to establish notability, the last one seems to be a fan page. Also they seem to be in Chinese, is there anything relevant that can be found in Thai sources since this seems to be related to a Thai princess? Also this item is currently linked to from Sirindhorn, Princess Royal (Q1884754) (the hairstyle was named after her) and Jiang Dehua (Q137351586). If there's a reliable source for the latter, then it might be enough to establish notability otherwise I suggest you replace hairstyle / hairlength (P8839) on those two items with something more appropriate eg bob cut (Q370366) and then it can be deleted. Fair enough, I was inspired by coming across Bleeter (Q66547747) (which is the '1 other' DeltaBot mentinos).
