Wikidata on Bluesky?

In the Contact tile on this page, there are links to Facebook, Mastodon, X/Twitter. There's many issues with Musk's Twitter and Mastodon is used very little which also has some issues while many now (also or instead) use Bluesky. I think it would be good to add a link to a Wikidata account on Bluesky there – apparently none such exists so I also suggest to create it.

• You can see that many people and organizations with a Wikidata item now have a bluesky account with this search using the Bluesky handle property.

• Further Twitter alternatives and Pros and Cons of each are in this structured argument map "What's the Best Twitter/X Alternative?" but I don't see another one not yet featured on the Main page there that comes close except /r/Wikidata on reddit which may need a separate discussion.

• I think the tile's title "Contact" is not fitting well. Please consider renaming it, e.g. to "Contact & outreach" or "External communities" or something similar.

• Thanks for raising this! We’re slowly moving away from Twitter/X and are now mostly on Mastodon, with plans to join Bluesky soon. Since many still tag us on X, we’re aiming for a gradual transition. I will keep the community updated once we get on Bluesky. Item and Property hyperlink in the example on the main page

Right now "Earth" and "Highest Point" are hyperlinked, but "Item" and "Property" aren't. It may be good to hyperlink them so that users can click to see what an "item" is. Egezort (talk) 12:24, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Writing error in Dutch

"Bekijk een voorbeeldilemma voor de schrijver Douglas Adams (Q42)": "voorbeeldilemma" should be "voorbeeld-lemma" (now it looks like it is about a dilemma). But I have no rights to change it. JopkeB (talk) 13:57, 14 July 2025 (UTC)

Identifiant biologique d'Entomologie Diptères pour Systema Dipterorum

Bonjour, la version 1.0 de Systema Dipterorum date de 2010, la version 6.4 date du 25 octobre 2025 et la base d'entomologie sur les diptères Systema Dipterorum est conséquente au point d'être référencée par GBIF. Je me permets de proposer d'ajouter la propriété "identifiant Systema Dipterorum" sur le principe d'un clonage de identifiant Global Biodiversity Information Facility (Property:P846).

Unfortunately, this wouldn't work well, at least not with the current diptera.org website. The identifier used in the URL, e.g. 268044 for Eristalis Latreille, 1804, only works for the current release/version (6.4). Once Systema Dipterorum v6.5 comes out, the URL with 268044 will point to a different name/record.

Systema Dipterorum is still a very useful resource (e.g., I've used it a lot on Wikispecies), but putting it on Wikidata isn't very useful (for the limitations I mentioned above).

However, there is a test/beta edition of Systema Dipterorum—maybe we could use this edition on Wikidata sometime in the future?

Side note—there is the "Record #", which is a persistent identifier (unlike the ID in the URL), but there is no way to search for or access a record with a particular "Record #", meaning it has less utility. --WrenFalcon (talk) 17:46, 30 October 2025 (UTC)
